This acrylic armchair is a tub moulded in translucent red. The shell is one rounded tub: the back curves round on both sides to make low arms, and the whole of it dishes to a seat. Four legs taper away from it to small feet. Shell and legs are the same red and the same material, so the chair reads as one colour from any distance.
A tub shell on tapered legs puts every load through four small feet, and the way the legs meet the shell is what the piece stands or falls on. Each leg is set into a thickened pad on the underside of the tub rather than onto its flat, which is why the underside is not a smooth curve if you look at it. The taper is cut so the leg reads slender from the front and keeps its section front to back, where the load actually goes. Translucent red is an unforgiving colour: any variation in the material reads as a lighter cloud across the shell, so the tone is checked against the legs before the two go together. No two shells carry the light identically.
At 79cm this is a dining-height chair rather than a lounge one, and four of them round a clear or pale table is what it is made for. The shell wraps enough to hold a sitter without arms getting in the way of a table edge. A translucent red puts colour into a room and still lets the floor read through, so it does not weigh down a small dining room the way four solid chairs do. Daylight from behind is what the colour wants.
Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. Both the colour and the finish are specified with the order: the same shell is made translucent as shown or as a solid opaque, and the two look quite different in a room - the translucent version disappears into the floor and the opaque one reads as a block of colour. Legs can be supplied in a contrasting shade. Each chair is its own line, so four of them is a quantity rather than a different product. Each arrives with the legs fitted and nothing to assemble, boxed with the shell held clear of the carton walls. One person carries it easily. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A rounded tub in translucent red belongs with our acrylic sculptures; four tapered legs in the same colour lead to our organic sculptures, and a dining chair for a small room joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
