Description

This tall, squared block of resin is tinted a deep, translucent red that glows like a lantern wherever daylight reaches it. Inside, a slender branch winds upwards in a long, lazy curve, sending a thin side twig with tiny buds out towards the left, and at its tip the figure of a small dark bird is perched, its stout beak turned to one side. The branch is a replica cast in PU resin rather than a cut branch, modelled down to its knots and buds.

Imported resin, tinted red right through, forms the block, and its faces are polished flat between crisp, square edges that pick up a bright line of colour. Through the tint the branch and the bird read as dark silhouettes, like a drawing made in ink. The branch narrows as it climbs, twisting near the foot, where a small curled leaf sits, and again below the bird, while the side twig forks and loops back on itself in a fine tendril. The bird has a faint sheen along its wing and a pale ring around its eye.

At 50cm it stands at a good height on a sideboard, a console table or a deep shelf, where the red can glow against the wall behind it. A window or a lamp beside it brings the colour to life, and a pale or neutral wall shows the dark silhouettes most clearly. It also makes a vivid piece in an entrance hall or on a reception desk. Indoor use only.

The Red Block, Bespoke Choices and Delivery

Give it 3–4 weeks as a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks as a bespoke commission. The price is for one block, which is sold individually. As a commission the resin can be tinted amber, green or blue, or left clear, the branch can carry a different small bird or none at all, and the block can be scaled up or down. Two or three birds can also be modelled on the branch instead of one. It travels in a padded crate with its edges guarded, and it should be carried with both hands beneath it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
