Description

A deep red egg of jade-effect resin, polished over an unbroken surface with no mark, seam or facet anywhere on it. The colour is mottled and clouded within the material and reads as depth rather than as pattern. A flat is cut at the foot so it will not roll, and no stand comes with it.

Nothing on the Surface at All

An object with nothing on its surface has one place left to be interesting, and it is inside. The mottling here is suspended through the body rather than laid near the skin, which is the harder of the two and the only one that produces depth: pigment kept close to the surface reads as a pattern printed on a red egg, while pigment distributed through the whole mass gives clouds at different distances and the eye cannot settle on any of them. It also means the polish has to be perfect, since there is no texture, no colour break and no form to hide a scratch behind. Every one shows.

It is a piece to be handled and a piece to be seen alone. At 25cm it holds the whole surface of an empty console or a bedside table, where a crowded shelf would turn it into a red blob. The red is strong enough to throw colour onto a pale ground, which is worth having. Light from one side and close is what brings the interior up, because the clouds only separate under a light that reaches them from the side.

The Mottling, the Finish, and Delivery

Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The red is taken toward orange or deepened almost to black, the mottling is run heavier or nearly clear, and the egg is cast at other sizes. A frosted finish is offered and makes a matt object with no interior at all, which is a different idea rather than the same one finished differently. It is sent in one padded box in a cut bed touching only the flat, and one hand lifts it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A pebble kept whole belongs with our organic sculptures; red mottled through the body leads to our resin sculptures, and a single red form for an empty console joins our indoor sculptures.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
