Red Fanned Spiral Resin Sculpture - 63cm, with three ribbed fans swirling from a red base to pale pink edges, set on a black stand against a white background.
Red Fanned Spiral Resin Sculpture - 63cm $2,30600
Description

Red runs through every part of the spiral, from a deep, saturated stem to fans that pale towards pink at their outer edges. Three fluted fans wind round the stem as they rise: a broad one swings out sideways as a long, tapering wing, another rises at its back to a rolled crimson rim, and a small one rolls over at its crown. Every fan is lined with fine ribs that darken to crimson in their grooves. The base is a plain block of black marble.

Crimson Drawn Through Every Rib and Fold

The twist is what makes the red work. As each of the three fans turns away from the eye its colour deepens towards crimson, and as it turns back it opens to a warm pink, so the movement of the form can be followed in the colour alone. The ribs add a second rhythm over the first: fine raised lines that follow each curve and hold a darker red in the grooves between them. From the front the wing leads; from the side the climbing fan and the small curl take over, and the piece never reads the same way twice.

Its 63cm height suits a sideboard or a wide shelf, where a strong colour can hold its own among books and pictures. Against a pale wall the red is at its brightest, while dark timber turns it deeper and richer. Raking light picks out the ribs, and it is worth placing where it will be seen in passing from more than one direction, in a hall or a dining room. Indoor use only.

Red Saturation, the Marble Base and Moving It

Plan for 3–4 weeks on a standard piece and 5–6 weeks on a bespoke commission. As a commission the red can be taken darker, towards garnet, or lighter, towards coral, and its gradient can be set so that the topmost curl is left clear. Its base can be made in white or grey marble in place of the black, keeping the plain rectangular block. When it is moved, the marble is lifted with both hands and the stem kept upright; no weight should go on the wing or on the rolled rim. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A twisting spiral of red resin fans finds a natural setting in our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
