Red Diagonal Facet Rounded Square Resin Stool, 45cm, glossy translucent red with a dark diagonal facet, shown against a plain white background.
Red Diagonal Facet Rounded Square Resin Stool - 45cm $4,72500
Description

This red cast resin stool stands on a rounded-square plan rather than a circle, its corners drawn round and its sides only slightly flattened. Deep translucent red, with one broad diagonal facet cut across its side, so the piece reads as a bright red band against near-black depending on where you stand. The top is left flat and the whole outside is polished to a gloss.

One Straight Cut Across a Curved Red Face

The facet's arrises are dead straight and its face carries the same gloss as the curve either side of it. That is the whole of the difficulty: one straight line across a curved face, with a mirror finish on both sides of it. The red is in the material and deepens with the thickness, which is why the body reads almost black away from the facet. The top is worked flat last of all and the arris where it meets the side is left true rather than eased.

At 45cm it is seat height for an adult, and the flat top holds a tray or a glass without either rocking. The facet only reads from certain angles, so it belongs where it is walked past rather than tucked into a corner, and it wants light from one side. Two of them set together give the effect twice over, from two directions.

The Facet, the Red, and Where It Reads

Once ordered, a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke one 5–6. Most of it is the diagonal facet. Three points are open. The facet angle is yours to set, a second facet can be cut on the far side for a piece that reads the same from both directions, and the red is offered in another tint. The plan figures and the seat height are settled at order. The angle of the facet is common to a single order and particular to it. With the faceted side and the top arris crated clear, one person can bring it in. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

One straight facet cut across a curved red face places this stool with our geometric sculptures; to perch on or rest a glass on, it belongs to our art furniture, and the red casting to our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
