Red Clouded Inclusion Mass Resin Sculpture, 25cm, smooth rounded red resin form with internal cloudy fractures, flat base, on a plain white background.
Red Clouded Inclusion Mass Resin Sculpture - 25cm $1,82300
Description

A red mass clouded through with broken inclusions. The outside is smooth and unbroken, with no cut or facet anywhere on it, so nothing on the surface competes with the fractures held inside it, which are read by looking past the polish into the material. A flat is taken off the underside so it will not roll, and no stand comes with it.

Everything Happens Inside the Surface

The outside of this piece is deliberately uneventful. It is a smooth rounded mass with no cut, no facet and no opening, because every one of those would compete with what is going on inside it. The inclusions are broken planes suspended through the body, and they are read by looking past a polished surface into the material, which only works if the surface itself gives the eye nothing to stop at. A faceted exterior would have thrown a highlight at every edge and the interior would have disappeared behind them. The red is chosen at a strength that lets light reach the middle: a deeper tint would have made a handsome solid object with nothing visible inside it, and a paler one would have left the inclusions looking like flaws rather than like structure. The flat on the underside is the only cut on the piece.

At 25cm it is small enough to keep on a desk or a shelf, read close and worth handling. It needs light to get into it, so a spot near a window or a lamp does far more for it than a shaded shelf, where it becomes a dark red lump. It stands on its own flat and needs nothing under it, though a pale surface beneath will bounce light up into the body and show the inclusions from below.

The Inclusions, the Red, and Delivery

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. The inclusions are run heavier or nearly clear, the red is taken toward orange, and the mass is cast at other sizes. The inclusions are also run heavier for a denser interior or nearly out for a clear one, which is the change that most alters the piece, and the mass is cast at other heights. A frosted finish is offered and removes the whole effect, since the interior is read through the surface. It ships as one item resting on its flat, and it can be carried in one hand. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A mass clouded from the inside belongs with our organic sculptures; red resin fractured within leads to our resin sculptures, and a piece to hold up to the light joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
