Purple Hooked Form Resin Sculpture (64cm) by Giant Sculptures, a hooked organic form with dark marbled ink through violet resin, on a black marble base, plain light background.
Purple Hooked Form Resin Sculpture - 64cm $2,29400
Description

A swelling body drawn up and over into a hook, with dark ink suspended inside the violet at varying depths through the casting. Violet through the body with dark ink marbled through the swell and the hook clearing toward its tip. A black marble block is included underneath it.

Ink Held at a Depth

The violet is deepest through the swell and clears toward the tip, so the hook reads lighter than the body it grows out of. The tip is where the least material stands between the eye and the far side, and that is why the swell is drawn as full as it is. The resin is what holds the ink at a depth, so the marbling drifts against the outline as you move and is never read as a mark on the surface. Polished over the whole casting, so the ink is seen through the surface rather than at it.

A desk or a night stand suits it, set where the hook is above the eye and reads against the wall. A pale ground behind it, so the hook has an outline and the ink reads as drift. Light from behind opens the ink right up; from the front it gives back a flat violet and nothing else. The hook is what takes the eye, from the far side of a room or from a foot away; the ink waits until you are close.

Drawing the Hook Further Over, and a Fixed Stone

Time separates the two: a bespoke commission takes 5–6 weeks, a standard piece 3–4. If you would rather the hook drawn further over, it is made that way at the order, and another tint is available through the body. Draw the hook further over and the swell beneath is thickened, since a reach this far past the foot has to be paid for below. It arrives with its marble already underneath and there is nothing to fix. One person with both hands, holding the swell rather than the hook. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A violet neck drawn over into a hook leads to our organic sculptures; the violet casting with ink held inside it joins our resin sculptures, and a room by a window shows its ink among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
