This side table is an upturned U: one top plate and two side panels, formed in one run, so nothing on it is jointed, and every corner drawn to a wide radius rather than a fold. The purple is strongest along the top and pales as it comes down each side, so the table appears to be standing in light.
Two corners in one sheet is harder than one, because the second bend has to be made in material that has already been worked and the first corner has to survive it. Both are formed to a wide radius, which keeps the colour even round the turn - a tight bend lengthens the path light takes through the corner and would show as a dark band exactly where the eye goes. The two sides then have to finish at the same height with no adjustment available afterwards, since there is no foot to pack. The faces are polished once the bends are made, since that is the one way to remove what forming leaves.
A U-form has no legs to catch a foot on and nothing under the top, so it slides in tight: beside a bath, at a bedside, against the arm of a sofa. At 50cm the top sits above the seat of most chairs. The colour is at its strongest along the top, which is the face you look down on, so this is a table read from above rather than from across a room. Over a pale floor the purple throws a soft wash down between the two sides.
Set aside 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The corner radius can be opened or tightened, which changes both the profile and the depth of colour at the turn. The grade can be reversed to put the purple at the floor, and other colour pairs come from the same run. Height and plan are both cut to order, and the sheet gauge can be increased where the table is to carry more than a lamp. It arrives as one formed piece with nothing to assemble, and is an easy one-person carry. It travels sleeved with both corners boxed, a formed radius being the part that marks. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A purple strongest along the top plate belongs with our acrylic sculptures; two corners formed to one wide radius lead to our art furniture, and a U-form that slides in close to a chair joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
