Purple & Blue Graded Mountain Resin Sculpture - 65cm, four frosted peaks shading from blue base to purple and pale summits, set on a clear acrylic block against a plain white background.
Purple & Blue Graded Mountain Resin Sculpture - 65cm $3,57700
Description

A frosted range running blue at the foot through magenta to a pale summit, carried on a clear acrylic block. Four peaks rise along the length and the tallest stands left of centre. The whole surface is worked matt, and the block beneath it runs the full length of the range and a little beyond.

Three Colours Need Two Transitions and No Edges

A two-colour grade has one transition to hide. This has two, and the middle band is where it is decided. Too narrow and the magenta reads as a stripe between a blue piece and a white one; too wide and the object has three flat zones instead of a gradient. What makes the judgement harder is that the band is not level - it follows the height of the range, so it is broad across the low ground and pinched where a peak rises through it, and it has to look continuous in both conditions.

A clear block under a graded piece is doing something: it keeps the blue at the foot visible instead of cutting it off at a dark line, which is what a stone base would do. So the piece wants a surface that reads through the block - a pale timber, a glass shelf, a light stone. Set on something dark, the lowest and deepest part of the grade is lost. It needs a surface with some depth as well as length.

The Middle Band, the Block, and Delivery

Most pieces are standard and take 3–4 weeks; a bespoke commission takes 5–6. Two transitions have to disappear rather than one, and the magenta between them is pinched at every peak and broad over the ground. The palette is changed at order, the grade is cut back to two colours, and the acrylic is cut to other sizes. Two colours make a calmer object with one transition to judge. It travels as two packages, the block boxed flat and the range faced, and the two are assembled on site. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A range graded from blue through magenta belongs with our organic sculptures; two transitions with no edge set it in our resin sculptures, and a clear block over pale timber suits our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
