Pink to Blue Looped Ribbon Knot Resin Sculpture, 80cm, with violet-blue upper loops and pink-to-magenta lower curves, on a black marble base, against a plain light background.
Pink to Blue Looped Ribbon Knot Resin Sculpture - 80cm $1,82200
Description

A ribbon looped into a knot and standing on the bend at its foot, violet and blue in its upper loops and pink deepening to magenta toward the foot, on a block of black marble. No two loops carry the same part of that run, so each crossing sets two colours side by side. A black marble block comes with the piece and carries it.

Three Colours Meeting at the Crossings

Three colours run through this design, and a form that doubles back is the shape that can show all three at once from a single position. A form that doubles back on itself is the only shape that can show three parts of one colour run at once, and the crossings are where that happens. Everything about the piece is arranged so the loops meet where the colour is changing rather than where it has settled. A colour run through a body that doubles back on itself puts two different parts of the run alongside each other wherever the ribbon meets itself, so the intersections carry its widest range. Polished the whole way round, including the inner faces of each loop, which are visible through the openings.

It suits a surface with clearance on both sides, since the piece changes as you move around it. Pale and plain. Three colours in one body is enough without a patterned ground behind it. Light through the openings throws coloured shadows onto the surface beneath, which is worth allowing for when placing it. The knot reads as a knot from the doorway; which colour sits where takes a few paces.

Fewer Colours, and Getting It There

Every standard piece is made in 3–4 weeks, and every bespoke commission in 5–6. The run can be cut to two colours, the loops can be opened out, and a pale block can replace the black. Cut it to two colours and the crossings stop being events, because there is then only one boundary in the whole run to cross. One crate, with stone and sculpture already fixed to each other, standing when it is unpacked. One person. Take it by the block and not by a loop. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Ribbon knots graded through several colours sit in our organic sculptures; its three-colour run belongs among our resin sculptures, and it makes a centre point in our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
