A closed ring standing on its own bottom edge, the body fluted into radiating ribs and opened through the middle, set into a marble base longer than the ring is wide. The flutes are clear at the outer rim and turn grey-green toward the lip of the opening, so the ring darkens inward. A marble base is supplied, longer than the ring is wide, and the title figure is taken across the base rather than up the ring.
Flutes cut around a curve change width as they go, so a fluted ring cannot be set out once and repeated: every rib is a different width from its neighbour and the eye notices immediately if they are not. The flutes are deepest at the bottom where the body is thickest and fade toward the top, which is what stops it reading as a plain hoop. Flutes cut this close together across a curved face need a body that holds an edge, and there are more than sixty of them. Polished over the flutes and between them, which is where the work actually is.
A dining table, a long sideboard or an island. The span beats the height here, so a surface suits it and a floor does not. A dark ground behind it puts the opening in the middle to work; against white the ring closes up. Light from one side throws every flute into relief and the ring reads as a fan rather than a hoop. The opening is what registers across a room and the fluting is entirely a close matter.
Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. The flutes are cut coarser or finer, a tint is run out to the rim, and the base is cut down. Cut the flutes coarser and the fan effect goes with them, because it depends on how many of them the eye crosses at once. Base and ring travel apart in one crate and the ring is set into its seat on site. One person for the ring and one for the base, and the ring is carried at the bottom where the body is thickest. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A fluted ring opened through its middle leads to our organic sculptures; the ribbed casting sits among our resin sculptures, and more pieces that read along their length are in our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
