Orange Twin Lobe Curl on Marble Resin Sculpture, 47cm, glossy orange two-lobed heart-shaped form on a black marble base, plain white background.
Orange Twin Lobe Curl on Marble Resin Sculpture - 47cm $2,02000
Description

An orange curl of two hollowed lobes, rising from a short, dark stem on a black marble block and opening apart like the two halves of a heart, the top of each turning over into its hollow. Both lobes are drawn to rounded points and the opening between them is left wide, and the orange runs at a single strength through the whole casting rather than banded across it.

One Colour Across Two Lobes

Running one colour through a form of two lobes is the harder choice and it puts all the weight on the drawing. With a banded casting the eye is given three things to look at and the shape can be quite ordinary underneath; with a single tone the outline and the way light moves round it are all there is. So the two lobes here are not the same: one is fuller and turns further, the other is drawn thinner and stops short, and the opening between their points is set off the centre line. A symmetrical pair in one colour reads as a moulding rather than as a sculpture. The deep orange is chosen at a strength that still lets light reach the middle, because the only depth in the object is what can be seen through it.

It belongs on a console or a wide shelf, and it is met square: the opening between the lobes is the subject and it closes from either side. It wants light behind it more than on it, since a single deep tint goes almost black in reflected light and only shows its colour when something is coming through. A pale wall at a little distance does more for it than a lamp beside it.

The Opening, the Orange, and Delivery

Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. The orange is deepened almost to brown, the opening between the lobes is cut wider, and the block is made in other stones. The span is open too, with the block sized to match, and a second tone is banded across the foot where a quieter piece is wanted. A frosted finish is offered and suits the single colour, since it holds the light at the surface and keeps the outline clean. Stone and casting come in separate boxes, and the casting is taken at the foot and never at a lobe. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A curl closing on itself is organic sculpture; the orange is carried through as resin sculpture; and a polish this deep is indoor sculpture work.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
