Orange Torn Rim Frosted Acrylic Tabletop - 60cm, round disc with irregular coral-toned edge and central fixing hole, shown on a plain white background.
Orange Torn Rim Frosted Acrylic Tabletop - 60cm $2,09200
Description

This is a tabletop and nothing else: a round disc of frosted orange acrylic, with a small fixing hole through the centre. The rim is left torn and irregular the whole way round and reads a deeper coral than the face, because the broken edge scatters more light than the frosted surface does. No base, legs or frame are supplied with it, and it is made to be fixed to a base of your own choosing.

A Rim Left Exactly as the Cut Left It

The disc is cut from a frosted sheet and the rim is left exactly as the cut left it, torn and irregular, with no work taken to the edge afterwards. That is the whole proposition and it is harder than a finished edge, because a torn rim cannot be corrected: an edge that runs out has to be recut from the start. The frosting is worked over both faces and stopped short of a gloss, so the orange stays soft and the torn edge reads brighter than the field beside it. The centre is drilled and eased for a fixing, and the face is taken flat so it beds evenly on whatever carries it.

It is a top for a small side or drinks table, supplied for fixing to a base chosen separately, so its height is settled by whatever carries it. The torn rim is the reason to have it, and it shows more of itself from seated height than from standing over it. Frosted acrylic takes no reflection and hides marks a gloss face would show, so it suits a table in regular use.

The Torn Edge, the Fixing Hole, and Other Diameters

Work on a bespoke commission runs to 5–6 weeks, on a standard piece to 3–4. The torn rim sets the pace here. Ordering settles three things. The tint can be changed, the frosting can be taken to a gloss instead, and the centre fixing can be left out where the base does not need one. Panel diameter and panel thickness are quoted to whatever you need. Put the whole order in at once and the tear of the rim carries across every piece. It travels flat with the torn rim and the centre hole boxed clear of the crate wall, packed so nothing rests on the face. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A torn orange rim round a frosted disc gives our art furniture a top for a small table; the ragged edge suits our organic sculptures, the sheet our acrylic sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
