A bar stool with a seat of amber resin, dished in the middle and turned up at all four corners so it holds a sitter without a back. Beneath it a chromed column runs down to a broad disc on the floor, with a ring set part way up to stand on and a lever under the seat that raises and lowers the column.
A seat that turns up at the corners and dishes in the middle is a compound curve in two directions at once, and resin will pull as it sets unless the corners are given the same section as the middle. The corners are therefore the part that decides whether a seat is good: the amber reads deeper where they turn and lighter across the flat of the seat, which is the geometry showing rather than two tints. The underside carries a boss for the column, set on the seat's centre of area rather than its centre of outline, because the two are not the same on a squared seat with rounded corners. Every seat carries the light a little differently.
A stool at 90cm suits a counter rather than a bar - a kitchen island, a breakfast run, a reception desk - and the lever gives some room either side of that. The footring matters more than it looks: on a stool with no back it is what lets someone sit for any length of time. Its compact plan lets three or four stand along an island without touching. Amber warms a room with a lot of hard surface in it, and it reads brightest with light coming down onto the seat from above.
Our workshops take 3–4 weeks over a standard piece and 5–6 over a bespoke commission. The seat colour is specified with the order and the same shell is made in a clear resin. The column is available brushed instead of chromed, and a fixed column can replace the adjustable one where a set height is wanted. Stools are priced singly, so a run of four is a quantity here. Each arrives as a seat and a column assembly which bolt together through the boss with the fixings supplied, and one person can manage the whole thing up a stair. The disc foot is the weight in the carton and travels at the bottom of it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A dished amber seat over a chromed column belongs with our metal sculptures; corners turned up to hold a sitter lead to our organic sculptures, and a stool for a breakfast run joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
