Orange & Red Flame Resin Sculpture - 164cm, an amber-toned twisting flame form on a black block atop a white marble plinth, shown against a plain light background.
Orange & Red Flame Resin Sculpture - 164cm $3,30700
Description

The flame doubles back on itself above a black block, and the whole of it stands on a pale marble plinth. Amber and red drawn through the flame, deepest where the body doubles and clearing at the tip. Two supports are supplied: a small black block, and under it a tall plinth of white marble.

Two Passes of One Flame, and the Gap Between Them

A flame drawn to double back on itself has to keep both passes readable, and that is a question of spacing rather than of shape: too close and the two close into one mass, too far and it stops being a flame at all. The gap is set at the widest the outline will carry and everything else is drawn around it. A tinted body on a pale plinth is why the flame reads as lit from below: the marble returns light up into the casting and the amber takes it. Polished over the whole flame, with the block honed and the plinth left as cut.

Floor work, and the plinth does the placing: it brings the flame up to a standing eye. A dark wall behind it, so the amber is the brightest thing in the corner it stands in. Light from one side runs the whole height of the flame; the plinth needs none of its own. The eye is taken up the plinth and stopped at the flame, which is the arrangement the two are sold as.

Cutting the Plinth Again, and a Pallet at the Door

Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. On request the plinth is cut at another height, the amber is exchanged, or the flame is made at another size against it. Change the plinth and the whole arrangement moves, since the pair is drawn around where the flame meets a standing eye. Plinth, block and flame travel apart and are stacked in order on site. Three people: two for the plinth and one for the flame. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A flame of amber streaked with red belongs to our organic sculptures; the tint drawn right through it joins our resin sculptures, and the tall white stone under it suits a hall among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
