The cone twists about its own axis from a narrow foot, opening at the top and again at the middle. Amber through the body with gold drawn across the surface in patches, heaviest where the cone turns. A metal foot comes with it, turned and brushed: a round disc with a short stem that the narrow end of the cone rests on.
Gold is laid on in patches rather than over the whole surface, and once they are on nothing about them can be shifted. The amber underneath is continuous and even, so a patch that lands badly has nowhere to hide and the casting begins again. Gold laid on a tinted body catches where the resin does not, so the two surfaces are read at different distances: the amber from across a room and the gold from a few paces. Polished beneath the gold and brushed on the metal foot.
It belongs on a hall console with room to be walked round. A pale ground behind it, because gold on a dark wall stops being gold. One source from above finds the patching; light from below returns the amber and little of the gold. The turn carries at a distance and the gold patching is a near fact.
Production takes approximately 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. We will exchange the gold for another leaf, draw the cone at another height, or leave the surface plain. Leave the gold off and the amber is deepened to carry the cone by itself, which is a far plainer object at the same size. One crate, and the foot travels beneath the cone. Two people, one to each side of the foot. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
An amber cone twisted about its own axis belongs to our organic sculptures; its turned metal foot connects the piece with our metal sculptures, and a hall with room round it holds it among our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
