Orange & Cream Teardrop Loop Resin Sculpture, 75cm, frosted ribbon form on black base, amber and dusky rose tones, plain white background.
Orange & Cream Teardrop Loop Resin Sculpture - 75cm $2,55600
Description

One ribbon of resin rises from the base, crosses itself at the foot and closes into a teardrop with a clear opening through the middle. The surface is frosted throughout. Cream at the crown warms to a glowing amber down one side, the other side and the outer band of the crossing take a dusky rose, and a smoky, near-black band lies across the floor of the opening beside the crossing. A low black marble block is included.

A Run That Closes Into Its Own Shadow

A ribbon that crosses itself has one decision in it that governs everything else, and that is where the crossing sits. Put it halfway up and the piece becomes a figure-of-eight; put it right at the bottom and the two ends have nowhere to go. Here it sits just above the base, which leaves the whole run above it as a single unbroken teardrop. The colour is drawn to the same plan: the crown is the palest cream, one side warms to amber and the other to a dusky rose, and the darkest tone gathers in a smoky band across the floor of the opening, just beside the crossing. Frosted all over, the ribbon carries those changes softly, so no colour stops at a hard edge.

Standing 75cm with its block, the loop is best met on a console or a sideboard, set so that the opening has something behind it worth looking at. Light from behind lifts the crown and deepens the foot, which is the arrangement the grade is drawn for. A pale surface underneath separates the dark foot from its own shadow. The two ends meet at the foot where the colour is darkest, so the loop appears to close into shadow while the crown stays the lightest part of a continuous run.

The Grade, the Crossing, and Delivery

Making a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks, and making a bespoke one 5–6. The cream is carried further down the ribbon, the meeting point is set to one side, and the block is offered in a white marble too. The loop is cast at other heights, with the ribbon broadened to suit each one. Where the near-black foot is too heavy the grade is stopped at amber, which makes a lighter object without changing the form at all. The crossing is moved off the centre line on request. Ribbon and block are crated together with the crown bedded, and the piece is carried by its marble, never by the ribbon. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A ribbon crossing itself is organic sculpture; cream running into amber is resin sculpture; and a loop you can see daylight through is indoor sculpture work.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
