Orange & Cream Faceted Rock Resin Sculpture, 83cm, on a black marble base, set against a plain white background.
Orange & Cream Faceted Rock Resin Sculpture - 83cm $5,67000
Description

A rounded mass cut into broad flat planes, the arrises between them left sharp and the outline still reading as a boulder rather than as a crystal. Amber at the edges clearing to cream through the middle, with the facets catching both ends of the run. Black marble arrives with it, a long, shallow slab under the mass.

Planes Cut Across a Rounded Mass

No two planes take the colour at the same depth, so the graduation arrives as a set of steps rather than as a wash. Cut more of them and the steps close up into a smooth run, which is a different object made from the same outline. A faceted body is why the graduation reads as it does: each plane takes the colour at a different depth, so one tint gives as many tones as there are faces. Cut into broad flat planes and polished on every one of them, with the arrises left sharp.

A console or a wide shelf, close enough that the facets can be counted. Give it a dark wall. The cream through the middle only reads as cream against something darker than itself. One source is enough, set to one side: a faceted body lights itself from a single direction. It reads as a mass of colour from across a room and as a cut surface only close to.

More Facets or Fewer, and a Pair Lifted Out

Give it 3–4 weeks as a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks as a bespoke commission. On request the facets are cut in greater or fewer number, the amber is exchanged, or the marble is cut to another plan. Cut more facets and the graduation smooths out, because what makes the run visible is that each plane holds one tone. Marble and casting are crated together and lifted out as a pair. Two people, hands under the marble rather than on the facets. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A faceted amber mass that still reads as a boulder belongs to our organic sculptures; its planes of amber clearing to cream join our resin sculptures, and a wide surface at arm's length puts it among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
