A curl of pale olive resin that closes on itself over a broad opening, lifted clear of the surface on a white cylindrical drum, which is included. One end folds inward at the top into a yellow-olive tongue edged in rust, and the other rises into a rounded hood edged in a dark line, so the two rims are not finished alike. Crinkled gold-toned flakes lie across the floor of the curl and climb the inner faces of both ends, broken by pale gaps.
A curl in a pale olive has almost no colour to describe itself with, so the two rims are treated as separate events. One end is run to a deeper yellow-olive and edged in rust, while the other is edged in a dark line, which means the opening between them is bounded by two different edges and reads as a gap rather than a slot. The gold-toned flakes follow the inside of the band, across the floor and up the inner face of each end, so the opening is lined with them while the outer wall stays a cloudy, pale olive, and the pale body keeps them legible where a stronger tint would swallow them.
At 60cm on its drum it suits a console or a sideboard, turned with the opening outward so both rims are in view at once, which suits it better than a corner. The flakes show best with a source set low and behind rather than overhead. A dark surface under the base separates the two whites. Two rims in two different tones means the opening is bounded by unlike edges, and the curl never reads as symmetrical however it is turned.
Give it 3–4 weeks as a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks as a bespoke commission. The olive is taken toward green, and the gold-toned flakes are gathered at one rim instead of lining the inside, or left out altogether. Span is open, with the curl drawn to the same broad opening at each. Running both rims to one tone makes the opening read as a slot rather than a gap, which is a quieter object and a less interesting one. Curl and drum travel in one crate, the curl bedded inside its opening, and the curl is taken out from under its floor, never by either end. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Giving two rims two treatments is an organic sculpture habit; olive held inside a wall is resin sculpture; and anything this pale wants indoor sculpture light behind it.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.
Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
