A broad shallow vessel with a rippled floor, laid into a cradle of black metal bars that carries it clear of the surface beneath. Olive and gold run through the middle of the floor and darken toward the rim, which is the reverse of most vessels here. A black metal lattice is supplied under it, and the dish sits down into the bars.
The ripple in the floor is there to hold the span up, and being handsome is the second thing it does: a corrugated sheet is stiffer than a flat one, and the ripples are set to run the short way over the floor for that reason. Putting the strongest colour at the centre and letting it go at the edge makes the dish read as full when it is empty, which is the opposite of what a glaze usually does. A body this wide and this shallow would sag in almost anything else, and the rippled floor is doing structural work before it does anything decorative. Polished over a floor that is deliberately uneven, so what falls on it is broken up rather than returned flat.
A dining table or a long sideboard, used or empty. The lattice is busy on its own, so keep what is behind it quiet. Light from above passes through the floor and prints the ripples on the table under it. The long low line is what reads from the door, and the ripples are a matter for the table.
Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. The ripples are drawn deeper, the olive is exchanged for blue, and the lattice is made in a brushed finish. Deepen the ripples and the floor is thickened to take them, which adds weight the lattice then has to carry. Lattice and dish travel apart in one crate, and the dish is set down into the bars once the lattice is standing level. One person, carried by the lattice and not by the rim. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A rippled olive dish carried on black bars belongs to our organic sculptures; its lattice stand links it to our metal sculptures, and it holds its own on a long surface among our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
