Navy Twin Ribbed Sheet Cast Resin Sculpture - 76cm, with ribbed fanning sheets rising from a dark stem on a black marble base, shown against a plain white background.
Navy Twin Ribbed Sheet Cast Resin Sculpture - 76cm $2,57300
Description

This deep navy cast resin sculpture is tinted all the way through rather than shaded at its edges, and it stands on black marble. Out of a stem dark enough to read as near black, two ribbed sheets part: a wide sweep that fans sideways, its leading edge turned under, and behind it a second sheet that grows a fringe of points along one margin, swells into a tall open horn at the top and tucks a small ribbed cowl back over itself. The ridges catch pale blue-grey highlights against the dark body.

Ink-Dark Navy Lit Along Every Ridge

A colour this dark makes the reeding the main event: each ridge throws back its own fine highlight, so the fan and the horn appear drawn in thin lines of silver-blue over a dark ground. The stem is the darkest part, almost black where it meets the marble, and the tint thins only a little towards the tips, so the piece holds together as one dark shape with a lit surface. That makes it a sculpture for contrast, at its strongest where the light is directional.

At 76cm overall it belongs on a reception desk or a long sideboard in front of a light wall, which it needs if it is to read as a silhouette. White plaster, pale limestone and light oak all work behind it, and a spotlight from above picks out the ridges one by one. It can also take a plinth in a gallery or a lobby. In a dim corner the navy goes flat, so give it somewhere well lit.

Navy Tint, the Black Block and Moving It

The standard build is 3–4 weeks and the bespoke build 5–6. As a commission the navy can be taken a shade lighter so that more light passes through, or deepened towards black, and swapping the black block for white marble gives a sharper break between piece and plinth. A tint matched to a sample is also on offer. Lift it with both hands beneath the block, keeping the sculpture upright, and let nothing take the weight of the fan or the horn. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Navy tinted right through and lit along every ridge, this two-sheet casting sits within our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
