An acrylic sculpture built as a box of dichroic panels, as wide as it is high and about half as deep, with a flat top and square-cut corners. Every panel is clear enough to see through to the next, and each returns its own colour: one end reads amber, the other a deep red banded with magenta and violet, green shows through towards one side, the top stays almost colourless, and the edges along the foot glow a pale gold. Where you look through two panels at once the colours combine into a third that belongs to neither, and it changes as you move.
A hollow form asks more of its maker than a solid one, for a reason that has nothing to do with strength: every panel is seen from both sides. A solid block only ever shows the outside of its surface, so the inner face can be left rough; here every plane is seen from in front and from behind, and a coating that was only ever meant to be viewed one way has to work from both. The corners are the second difficulty. Panels meeting at a right angle over a long edge have to close along the full length, since any gap admits a line of white light that reads as a fault against colours this saturated. And because the piece is hollow rather than a mass, its proportions are set by how the panels read through one another rather than by anything they hold.
This is a piece to put something behind. In front of a mirror, against a lit alcove or with a lamp beyond it, the panels become the subject and their colours combine across one another; set flat against a solid wall it loses half of what it does. Standing 55cm, it wants the top of a sideboard or a low cabinet, where its upper panels are met close to eye level. Keep the top clear as well, since anything stood on it is seen through every panel below. Avoid a busy background: what you see through it is part of it, and a patterned wallpaper behind the box reads as clutter inside the piece rather than behind it.
Once ordered, a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke one 5–6. The coating decides the whole character and is chosen at order: this full spread, a two-colour set, a single shift, or clear panel for a box of pure line. The proportions are drawn per piece, so a box drawn high and narrow, one drawn wide or one drawn deep all come from the same design, and the panel thickness goes up with the span. Versions at architectural scale are made to stand on the floor and be walked round as well as looked into. It is carried by its two ends, with nothing hung on the top, which must never be used as a handle. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Panels of dichroic acrylic squared into a box whose colours change at every step round it belong to our indoor sculptures, our contemporary and modern sculptures and our acrylic sculptures.

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
