The Monumental Straining Bull Bronze Sculpture stands 230cm tall and presents a working bull mid-effort, body inclined forward, head dropped low, every muscle locked in the act of hauling a bundled pack secured across its back with wooden slats and straps. The composition reads as a single arrested moment of pure physical labour, vast in scale and entirely convincing in its weight and force.
Produced using the traditional lost-wax casting process, this piece achieves the fine anatomical resolution that the subject demands. The antique bronze patina ranges from a deep warm brown in the recessed musculature to lighter golden highlights across the shoulders, haunches and raised ridge lines of the back, a tonal range that reads well in both natural and artificial light. The hand-finished bronze sculpture is set into a large integrated naturalistic rocky outcrop base, textured with crack lines and surface variation that extend the composition downward and anchor the bull visually to the terrain it strains against. Stone detailing within the base adds further material contrast against the warm bronze above.
At 230cm and 2,200kg, this is a piece conceived for landmark placement. It suits the forecourt of a private estate, a corporate plaza, a hotel entrance or a museum courtyard. The antique golden-brown tones sit well against pale stone facades, dark slate hardscaping, mature planting and rendered concrete alike. Fully weatherproof and structurally self-contained, it transitions without modification between covered indoor atria and open outdoor settings.
We offer the full range of bronze patina finishes including dark antique brown, verde green, satin black and polished natural bronze. The composition can also be rescaled for smaller courtyard or interior installations. For clients interested in a personalised commission inspired by the work of traditional animalier sculptors of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, our studio team is available to guide the brief from concept through to casting. Contact us before ordering to discuss your requirements.
