Monumental Traditional Elder Scholar Bronze Statue by Giant Sculptures, 350cm robed figure with long beard and clasped hands, weathered dark patina, plain background.
Monumental Traditional Elder Scholar Bronze Statue - 350cm $113,03300
Description

The Monumental Traditional Elder Scholar Bronze Statue stands 350cm tall, presenting a full standing figure of a robed elder in composed, dignified stillness. Layered scholar robes fall in deep, flowing drapery; a long beard and swept hair frame a head gently lowered in contemplation, while both hands clasp a cylindrical scroll at chest height.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished to a Weathered Patina

This piece is cast using the traditional lost-wax method, which captures every fold of the multilayered robes, the fine detailing of the decorative collar, and the geometric relief panel that runs along the hem and integrated plinth face. The surface carries a dark bronze patina ranging from deep brown to grey-green, built through controlled oxidation and hand-applied finishing to give an authentically aged, gallery-grade appearance. As a large handcrafted bronze sculpture at this scale, the casting weight of 1,500 kg reflects the density and permanence that only solid bronze construction delivers.

At 350cm, this statue commands architectural space. It suits formal entrance courts, civic plazas, institutional gardens, heritage landscapes, and grand interior atria with sufficient ceiling height. The dark patina reads well against pale stone, rendered walls, mature planting, and water features. The low stepped plinth is cast as an integral element, requiring no separate base.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

We can adjust the patina finish from the current dark weathered tone to a warmer classical brown, a rich verde green, or a polished natural bronze. Scale modifications are available, and the piece can be produced as part of a paired or grouped installation. This composition is also suited to commissions inspired by the work of Fernando Botero or other figurative traditions if a different formal character is required. Contact us before ordering to discuss your site, scale requirements, and finish preferences.
