The Monumental Contemporary Twisting Tornado Bronze Sculpture stands at an imposing 260cm, commanding immediate attention through its relentless upward spiral: a stack of organic, bulbous lobes that rotate around a central axis in a continuous helical motion, evoking the raw kinetic energy of a vortex frozen in cast bronze.
This piece is produced using the traditional lost-wax casting process, a method that preserves every nuanced contour of the original sculptural form through each stage of production. The result is a large abstract bronze sculpture with a smooth, tactile surface finished in a warm dark brown patina, with lighter bronze tones emerging on the raised ridges of each lobe where the surface catches light. That interplay of depth and highlight gives the form a breathing quality as the viewer moves around it. The sculpture is mounted on a low rectangular plinth in polished dark granite, its clean geometric edges providing a composed, architectural base that contrasts with the organic turbulence of the form above.
At 420kg and 260cm in height, this is a work that commands scale. It suits expansive interiors: entrance halls, corporate atriums, hotel lobbies, and gallery spaces where ceiling height and floor area allow the composition to be read from a distance. Outdoors, it performs equally well as a centrepiece for courtyards, terraces, civic spaces, and formal gardens with hard-landscaped settings. The dark bronze and granite palette pairs naturally with stone, concrete, black steel, and dark timber finishes.
The patina can be modified to suit your scheme: options include a classic verdigris green, a warm honey-gold, a cool dark brown, or a near-black finish. The sculpture is also available at a range of scales: please contact us before ordering if you require a custom height or a site-specific adaptation. Our team can also work with you on a fully bespoke monumental abstract bronze commission inspired by this twisting vortex form.
