The Monumental Contemporary Monkey Head Bronze Sculpture stands at an imposing 180cm, presenting an oversized disembodied primate head lifted slightly upward and to the right, mouth parted to reveal precise tooth detail within a commanding open expression.
This large Chinese zodiac monkey bronze sculpture is produced using the lost-wax casting method, a technique that allows foundry craftsmen to translate every nuance of the original model into durable metal. The surface moves between two distinct treatments: the facial planes are resolved in smooth, broad forms that catch light cleanly, while the neck and skull carry a dense, fur-like texture worked by hand after casting. The finished patina layers a deep brown base with green oxidation across recessed areas, lending the piece the weathered authority of a museum-grade antique bronze animal head without sacrificing definition in the detail.
At 180cm and 400kg, this sculpture is scaled for landmark placement. It suits the entrance of a corporate campus, a resort or hotel arrival court, a large private garden, or an atrium with sufficient ceiling clearance. The antique bronze colouring reads equally well against pale stone, dark slate, tropical planting, or a rendered architectural backdrop. Its placement suitability is unrestricted: the alloy and finish are engineered to withstand outdoor conditions year-round without protective intervention.
Patina options extend beyond the standard antique brown and green finish to include polished warm bronze, blackened iron effect, and verdigris washes. The sculpture can be scaled up or down to suit your installation envelope. For clients seeking a commission inspired by the work of Fernando Botero or monumental zodiac installation programmes, we welcome early-stage design consultation. Contact us before ordering to discuss your requirements.
