The Monumental Contemporary Abstract Female Figure Bronze Sculpture stands 220cm tall, commanding immediate attention through its dramatically wide horizontal upper sweep and its deeply organic, flowing silhouette. A narrow neck rises to a small spherical head, while the upper form fans outward in a broad horizontal arc suggesting a wide-brimmed hat, a sweeping cape, or outstretched wings; below, two rounded lobes of the lower body provide grounded sculptural weight and balance.
This sculpture is produced using the lost-wax casting method, a technique that preserves every subtle curve and flowing plane the sculptor intended. Each piece is hand-finished to achieve the smooth polished black patina visible across the form, with high surface reflectivity on the convex planes and softer matte tonal variation settling into the recessed contours. The result is a surface that reads differently at every angle and in every quality of light. The material is cast bronze throughout, chosen for its structural integrity at monumental scale and its long-term resilience in both interior and exterior environments.
At 220cm and 600kg, this piece carries the physical authority of institutional and public sculpture. It is equally suited to a formal garden, a landscaped terrace, a double-height entrance hall, or a large contemporary interior. The black patina harmonises with stone, slate, pale render, dark hardwood, and polished concrete. Against open sky or a light-coloured wall it becomes a strong graphic silhouette; within an interior, the reflective surface animates with ambient light.
We offer a range of alternative patina finishes, including warm traditional brown-bronze, verdigris, and custom aged effects. Scale modifications are available, and fully bespoke commissions, including site-specific sizing or surface treatments inspired by the work of Jean Louis Toutain, can be discussed directly with our studio team. Please contact us before ordering to confirm your specification.
