Monumental Classical Standing Lion Bronze Sculpture by Giant Sculptures, 200cm, shown in side profile on a rocky base with warm antique bronze patina.
Monumental Classical Standing Lion Bronze Sculpture - 200cm $122,33200
Description

The Monumental Classical Standing Lion Bronze Sculpture stands at a commanding 200cm, depicting a male lion posed in full alert on a naturalistically sculpted rocky outcrop, his head raised and turned forward, tail curving low with a tufted upward tip. Every detail, from the layered, flowing mane to the precisely articulated musculature, reads with the authority of a foundry piece built to endure generations.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished

This sculpture is produced using the traditional lost-wax casting method, which allows the craftsmen to preserve the full depth of the original model, including the fine textural carving of each strand within the mane and the subtle surface relief across the flanks and shoulders. The finished piece carries a warm antique bronze patina, with golden highlights drawing out the raised planes of the mane and brow, giving the lion a presence that shifts with the light. The stone-set base is cast integrally, requiring no separate assembly on arrival. This is handcrafted large bronze sculpture at a scale that demands space and rewards it.

At 200cm and 850kg, this piece is suited to grand interior galleries, entrance halls, and formal exteriors alike. It reads with equal authority against pale stone, dark masonry, or open landscaped ground. The warm bronze and gold tones complement natural materials, aged stone paving, and rendered or brick facades. Fully rated for outdoor placement, the dense cast bronze and sealed patina require only routine cleaning to maintain their character over decades.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

We offer a range of patina finishes beyond the standard antique warm brown, including dark oxidised black, verde green, and polished bright bronze. Scale can be adjusted for site-specific requirements, and the rocky outcrop base can be modified or repositioned on request. For commissions inspired by the work of historical animal sculptors, we welcome detailed briefs. Contact us before ordering to discuss your specification.
