The Monumental Classical Rearing Horse and Figure Bronze Fountain stands nine metres tall and weighs 25 tonnes. Four rearing horses ring a wide circular water basin at ground level, their forelegs lifted and manes frozen mid-motion. Above them, a tier of classical male and female figures stretches upward in dynamic poses, arms raised, bearing the weight of an open-lattice armillary sphere that crowns the entire monument. Every surface carries a consistent verdigris patina, the deep blue-green of deliberately aged bronze that reads as a single cohesive object even at this scale. This is a centrepiece for plazas, grand estate gardens, civic forecourts, and large-scale public-art commissions.
Each element is produced using the traditional lost-wax casting method, which captures the fine surface modelling of the horse musculature, the fabric folds on the figures, and the geometric lattice of the sphere with equal precision. After casting, every section is hand-finished and assembled by skilled foundry workers before the full verdigris patina is applied and sealed for long-term exterior durability. At this weight and height, the structural engineering of the base, anchoring system, and internal water plumbing is integral to the commission, all of which our team coordinates as part of the project scope.
A fountain of this scale belongs in settings that match its ambition: a formal garden avenue flanked by manicured hedging, the forecourt of a country house or hotel, the central axis of a civic plaza, or a landscaped corporate estate. The water system operates as a true working fountain, with the basin collecting flow from the upper tiers.
Patina finish is fully customisable: the standard verdigris can be replaced with a warm natural bronze, a dark brown antiqued finish, or a black oxidised surface. The fountain can also be produced at a reduced scale on request, from garden-scale down to courtyard proportions, while retaining the full compositional detail. Contact us before ordering to discuss your site, specification, and any bespoke requirements.
