The Monumental Classical Mermaid and Dolphin Bronze Sculpture stands four metres tall, presenting a life-size mermaid arching dramatically backward, arms raised overhead to support a leaping dolphin whose nose points skyward in a single soaring gesture. The vertical composition locks both figures into an interlocked spiral of movement, resolving downward into a wave-form rocky base that anchors the piece with as much visual energy as the figures above.
Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, every contour of this piece, from the mermaid's smoothly rendered torso to the finely articulated fish-scale texture of her tail, is shaped by hand before and after the pour. The result is a warm golden-brown patina across the upper figure that deepens into richer, darker tonal variation across the scale-textured lower body, creating natural contrast without artificial intervention. High surface reflectivity across the polished sections catches ambient light at every angle, giving the piece presence in both natural and artificial lighting conditions.
At this scale and weight, the sculpture commands a generous footprint. It suits formal entrance courtyards, hotel lobbies, civic plazas, waterfront promenades, and large private gardens with a classical or Mediterranean aesthetic. The warm bronze and gold palette pairs naturally with limestone, pale marble, dark granite, and water features. The integral wave-form base means no additional plinth is required; the piece arrives as a self-contained composition ready to install.
We offer a full range of patina finishes, from the classic warm golden-brown shown here through to verdigris, dark espresso, and aged silver treatments. The composition can be scaled for different site requirements. For those seeking a commission inspired by the work of a specific artist or tradition, bespoke design consultations are available. Please contact us before ordering to discuss your site, finish preferences, and any structural or installation considerations.
This piece is featured in our Bronze Sculptures collection. For further large-scale works, explore our Life-Size Bronze Statues range, or browse the full Bronze Fountains collection for pieces with water feature integration.
