The Monumental Charging Bison Bronze Sculpture stands 200cm tall, capturing a full-bodied American bison caught in the raw momentum of a forward charge, head dropped, weight driving through the front legs, tail raised, every muscle implied beneath a coat of deeply textured cast bronze.
This sculpture is produced using the traditional lost-wax casting method, a process that preserves the finest detail of the original model through each stage of production. The heavily textured bronze surface renders the bison's characteristic dense fur with particular authority: the thick mane and shoulder hump are sculpted in deep relief, the short curved horns cleanly defined against the lowered brow. A rich deep green-blue verdigris patina has been applied throughout, consistent with aged outdoor bronze, giving the piece the settled authority of a work long established in a significant collection. The sculpture sits on a low flat rectangular stone plinth with an integral sculpted ground base beneath the hooves, grounding the figure convincingly in its stance.
At monumental scale, this piece commands exterior environments with ease: estate grounds, corporate forecourts, civic plazas, and formal garden settings all provide fitting contexts. Its weathered patina reads equally well against contemporary stone architecture and traditional landscaped settings. Rated for permanent outdoor installation and equally suited to large interior atria, entrance halls, and gallery spaces.
Alternative patina finishes are available, including natural bare bronze, dark brown, and black. Custom scaling is possible for commissions requiring a specific footprint or proportion. If you are considering a site-specific installation or would like to discuss a bespoke version inspired by the work of Kent Ullberg or other wildlife sculptors working in this tradition, contact us before placing your order so we can scope the project accurately.
