Mirror Silver Swept Flame Resin Sculpture, 130cm, with a wing-like wave form and flame-like blades on a black base, shown against a plain white background.
Mirror Silver Swept Flame Resin Sculpture - 130cm $14,78800
Description

A sweeping form in a mirror-silver finish rises from one root into two movements: on one side a tall mass lifts and folds over like a wing or the crest of a breaking wave, and on the other a fan of slender blades curves upward and flickers like flames, each to its own sharp tip. Every surface carries the mirror finish, so the piece takes in the room around it and changes as you move. It stands on a low, rectangular base of black marble, which is included.

A Mirror-Silver Wing and a Fan of Flames

The piece is built on a single gesture that splits in two. From one root the form sweeps up and over into a heavy, folded mass on one side, and on the other it breaks into a spray of narrow blades, each curling to its own point. The mirror-silver finish is what makes that movement read: it carries highlights along every fold and turns each blade into a line of light, while the hollows hold the dark of whatever stands opposite. Since the surface reflects rather than colours, the piece looks different in every room, bright against white walls and shadowed against dark ones.

Its breadth and height make it a statement for an entrance hall, a hotel or office lobby, or the end of a large living room, standing on the floor or on a broad console so the blades rise into view. Give it space on every side, since the reflections are part of the piece and a crowded corner fills them with clutter. A plain wall and a single spotlight show the swept forms at their sharpest. Indoor use only.

The Mirror Finish, the Marble and Delivery

In the workshop a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. On commission the finish can be given a warm champagne tone or a deep gunmetal in place of silver, and the black of the marble base can give way to white. The balance between the folded mass and the fan of blades can be redrawn, with more blades or fewer, and the whole form scaled up or down to suit the space. It ships in a padded crate with every blade tip protected, and it is moved by its base, never by the blades or the folded crest. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Folding like a wing on one side and flaring into blades on the other, this mirror-silver form answers to our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
