A monumental group standing at 240cm tall, this life-size bronze captures a shaggy-coated highland bull beside its drover with a presence that commands any open landscape. The bull's long upward-curving horns and deeply worked coat texture define the left two-thirds of the composition, while the full-length rural figure stands upright to the right, staff in hand, wearing a layered hat and heavy traditional garb. A third smaller animal is partially visible behind the central pair, adding narrative depth. All three share a naturalistic circular base of compacted earth and scattered rock that grounds the group as though lifted directly from a highland pasture.
This piece is a companion sculpture designed to pair with our Life-Size Traditional Highland Bull and Herdsman Bronze Sculpture - 200cm, sold separately.
The piece is cast using the lost-wax method, allowing the sculptor's original surface modelling to transfer in full fidelity into the bronze. Every strand of the bull's shaggy coat, every fold of the drover's textile layers, and every irregularity across the rock-strewn base is preserved and hand-finished. A deep dark patina is applied and sealed, enriching the black-bronze tonal range and protecting the surface through all seasons outdoors.
Weighing 900kg, this is a permanent installation sculpture suited to estate grounds, parkland, heritage gardens, country house settings, and large commercial landscapes. A prepared, load-bearing base is required prior to installation.
The patina can be adjusted toward warmer antique bronze or a weathered verdigris finish. Scale variants are available, and fully bespoke commissions, alternative figure dress, breed variations, or compositional changes, can be discussed directly. Contact us before ordering to confirm specification and installation logistics.
