Large Contemporary Twisting Male Torso Bronze Sculpture by Giant Sculptures, 140cm fragmentary figure with green verdigris patina, shown against a plain background.
Large Contemporary Twisting Male Torso Bronze Sculpture - 140cm $27,28300
Description

The Large Contemporary Twisting Male Torso Bronze Sculpture stands 140cm tall, presenting a fragmentary male form truncated at the neck, upper arms, and hips in a dramatic, arching contrapposto. The chest thrusts forward and the back curves with deliberate tension, capturing the human body at its most physically expressive without the distraction of face or limb.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished

This piece is cast using the traditional lost-wax method, which preserves every subtle contour of the highly muscular anatomy in precise, enduring bronze. The surface carries a heavy green verdigris patina layered over lighter grey-green highlights, producing a mottled, polished appearance that reads as both ancient fragment and thoroughly contemporary object. The result is a hand-finished bronze torso sculpture with genuine depth of surface, not a uniform coating. The stone plinth, formed from a large rectangular block in dark grey-green natural stone, grounds the piece with an architectural solidity that complements the organic movement above it.

At 140cm and 450kg, this is a presence rather than an accent. It suits a generous entrance hall, a double-height interior lobby, a covered courtyard, or an open garden setting with a formal or minimalist character. Against pale limestone, raw concrete, or dark timber panelling, the verdigris tones shift from warm green to near-black depending on light conditions. The piece tolerates all weather and is equally resolved indoors or outside.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

The standard finish is the deep verdigris shown. Alternatives include a warm natural brown patina, a blackened dark bronze, or a polished bright bronze finish. Scale can be adjusted to suit your specific space, and the plinth profile is open to modification on bespoke orders. If you have a particular commission in mind, including work inspired by the work of Igor Mitoraj or similar classical-fragment traditions, contact us before ordering so we can confirm scope and timeline.
