Large Classical Recumbent Lion Bronze Sculpture by Giant Sculptures, shown in side view with full mane and dark patina finish against a plain light grey background.
Large Classical Recumbent Lion Bronze Sculpture - 200cm $122,60600
Description

The Large Classical Recumbent Lion Bronze Sculpture stands at an imposing 200cm in length, presenting a full-maned male lion at rest with a commanding forward gaze and a naturalistic, muscular body rendered in rich, dark-patinated bronze.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished

This sculpture is produced using the traditional lost-wax casting method, allowing every strand of the detailed flowing mane and every contour of the lion's powerful frame to be captured with precision. The surface carries a deep, dark brown patina that settles into the carved recesses of the mane while catching high reflectivity across the broad curves of the body and shoulders. The integrated flat rectangular plinth, cast as a single unit with the figure, features a stepped edge detail that frames the composition cleanly without the need for a separate base.

At 200cm in length and weighing 900kg, this is a piece conceived for spaces of genuine scale and ambition. It suits the entrance of a country estate, a wide stone-flagged terrace, a formal institutional forecourt, or a generous interior hall where the presence of a monumental work is not merely decorative but architectural. The warm bronze tones read well against natural stone, aged brick, pale render, and dark hardwood. Indoor and outdoor placement are both fully supported; the cast bronze construction and sealed patina are built to endure the elements without compromise.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

Patina options include natural mid-brown, aged verdigris, and blackened antique finishes. The sculpture can also be scaled up or down for specific site requirements. For clients seeking a commission inspired by the work of a particular artist, or requiring a bespoke wildlife sculpture tailored to an architectural brief, please contact us before ordering so we can discuss your exact requirements.
