Kelham White Cat Sculpture - 50cm, a white resin reclining cat with an abstract raised limb, shown on a plain light grey background.
Kelham White Cat Sculpture - 50cm $68700
Description

Kelham is a modern cat sculpture in 3D-printed resin, finished in white: a slim cat lying flat on its back with both hind legs kicked up into the air, holding an open book above its face in its front paws as though it has settled in for a long read. Its pointed ears and short muzzle are turned up towards the pages, and its long body stretches out along whatever surface it rests on.

A Cat on Its Back, Lost in an Open Book

Kelham turns a familiar moment of home life into a small, witty sculpture. The cat is pared down to a few smooth forms: a rounded head with two neat triangular ears, a long, tube-like body, front legs bent at the elbow to hold the book upright, and hind legs raised and loosely bent, one reaching higher than the other. The book is modelled open, its two pages spread wide on either side of the spine. The piece is 3D printed in resin, which keeps the slender legs and the thin edges of the pages crisp, and it is finished by hand in a soft white with a faint, lightly textured surface that gently catches the light.

Kelham is made for a surface where it can be seen up close and from the side: a wide shelf in a library or a study, a coffee table in a sitting room, a console in a hallway or a side table in the reading corner of a bedroom. It makes a natural companion for a well-stocked bookcase or a favourite armchair, and a thoughtful gift for a reader, a writer or anyone who shares a home with a cat. Indoor use only.

Coat Colours, a Contrasting Book and Delivery

Reckon on 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke one. The cat can be finished in black, a soft grey, a ginger tone or any colour you choose, in matt or gloss, and the book can be picked out in a contrasting colour so the pages stand apart from the paws. As a bespoke commission it can be made at another size, or as a pair of cats reading side by side. It is packed in a fitted box with the raised legs and the edges of the book cushioned, and it should be lifted by the body, never by a leg or the book. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Settled on its back with a good book, Kelham joins our abstract sculptures; printed in resin, it also belongs with our resin sculptures, and the reading rooms it suits are among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
