This armchair is cast in a jade-effect resin. The back is a barrel: it curves round from one side to the other and sweeps forward into closed arms without a break, dropping to arm height at the front. Below the broad seat there are no legs at all, only a solid skirt running to the floor with a single arch cut into the front. The body is a pale celadon green with cloudy swirls moving through it.
The absence of legs is the whole character of this chair. The shell runs from the top of the barrel back down to the floor as one continuous surface, and the single arch cut into the front skirt is the only opening in it, so from any angle the chair reads as a mass with a hole in it rather than as a seat on supports. The jade effect is not a surface treatment: the cloudy swirls are through the body, and they move as you walk past because the material is translucent to a depth of several centimetres. In flat light it reads as pale stone. With light behind it, the arch glows and the whole skirt lifts.
At 85cm this is a full sized armchair, substantial enough to hold a corner of a room by itself. The solid skirt means it cannot be placed over a floor grille or a trailing cable, and it sits flat rather than on feet, so a hard floor suits it better than a deep pile. Light from behind is what makes the arch and the swirls read. It suits a plain wall, which the pale celadon separates from cleanly. Indoors only.
Delivery follows a 3–4 week build as standard, or a 5–6 week build if bespoke. There are three decisions. The skirt, from this solid run to the floor through to four separate legs, which lightens the chair and changes it completely. The arm height, from this drop at the front to a level arm carried right round. And the jade route, which can be this pale celadon, a deeper green with more movement in it, or a white with only a trace of colour. You give the seat height and the width across, and a pair is worked together so the swirls relate. It ships upright in one crate and two people should carry it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A barrel chair with no legs, it takes a place among our art furniture; the curved shell suits our organic sculptures, and the clouded jade-effect body our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
