Ink Bird in Amber Resin Hanging Sculpture - 37cm, a square amber resin block shading from gold to orange with an ink-brushed bird, held by a bronze carrier and gilded hook against a plain white background.
Ink Bird in Amber Resin Hanging Sculpture - 37cm $2,56500
Description

A square block of amber resin, golden at the top and deepening to orange at the foot, with a bird brushed in dark ink standing inside it, as if painted on paper and sealed in the resin. A dark bronze carrier grips the block along its upper edge, and a gilded hook rises above it. It is made to hang, and the carrier comes with it.

An Ink Bird Held in Amber

The bird is drawn in loose, dark strokes, the way an ink painting is made, and the amber around it glows like old varnish, so the piece reads as a painting you can see into from any angle. The colour deepens towards the foot, which grounds the bird where it stands. The block is finished to a gloss on every face, its edges kept sharp, and the bronze carrier gives the warm block a dark, crisp frame above, like the mount around a small framed picture.

Hang it in a window, over a stairwell or in a porch, where daylight can pass behind it and nothing stands in the drop below the hook. Against the light the amber glows and the ink bird becomes a silhouette; seen against a wall, it reads as a small warm painting. It suits studies and hallways with wood and books.

Another Tint, Another Bird, and Delivery

Lead times run 5–6 weeks bespoke and 3–4 standard. The block can be tinted in another colour or left clear, the bird can be brushed in a different pose, and a gold carrier can replace the bronze one. The block also comes in aqua and in yellow with ink birds, and in clear resin around a green bird on its branch, each sold separately. It is crated with the carrier already fitted, ready to hang straight from its hook; hold it by the block until it is hung. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

An ink bird held in glowing amber resin is found in our resin sculptures; the painted, natural subject belongs with our organic sculptures, and pieces that hang from a hook are in our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
