Honey Timber Slab Clear Trumpet Leg Dining Table, 240cm, with live-edge wood top on two clear resin trumpet legs, shown on a plain white background.
Honey Timber Slab Clear Trumpet Leg Dining Table - 240cm $14,78300
Description

In this dining table a single thick slab of honey-toned figured timber, its live edge running along its length, rests on two clear resin legs cast as flaring fluted trumpets. The legs are hollow and colourless, so seen from across the room the honey timber above seems to stand on almost nothing.

A Honey Slab on Two Hollow Trumpets

The slab is dried and stabilised, then the live edge is cleaned back to sound wood and the face is flattened and finished, which is the part that cannot be hurried on a board this long. The two legs are hollow, which puts the material out at the face the eye reaches and leaves none of it buried, and the flutes are cut into the mould itself so their pitch holds as the trumpet opens. Each mouth is faced flat and the pair is levelled together before the slab goes on, and the slab is checked along its whole length rather than at its ends.

Since the two trumpets are all there is to the design beneath the board, it wants a room where both can be seen from either side. The legs are set in from the ends, so the seats at each end have clear legroom while the ones along the sides do not. A pale floor lets the hollow legs read; against a dark one they close up and the board appears to rest on shadow.

The Slab, the Two Trumpets, and Other Lengths

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. Most of it is the leg casting. Three of its features are open. The slab is chosen from the timber in stock at order, the two trumpets can be cast to one girth where a matching pair is wanted, and their wall can be made thicker. Both the top length and the leg height are yours to set. Ask for several together if the run of the live edge needs to agree between them. The two trumpet mouths and the timber face are boxed clear first, and the slab travels on a bearer running its whole length rather than blocked at its ends. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Honey timber riding on two hollow clear trumpets earns this dining table a listing in our art furniture; its live edge suits our organic sculptures, the fluted legs our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
