Honey Jade Effect Ring on Marble Column Resin Sculpture, 80cm, mounted on slim metal posts atop a grey column base, set against a plain light background.
Honey Jade Effect Ring on Marble Column Resin Sculpture - 80cm $2,49700
Description

A pierced ring in a honey jade-effect material, mottled and lightly veined, held clear of its column on two slim metal posts. The opening through the middle is a little under half the diameter, so what remains is a broad ring rather than a hoop. The marble column beneath it is part of the piece.

The Posts Are the Whole Engineering

Two thin posts under a ring of this weight look like a mounting detail and are in fact the reason the piece works. A ring sitting flat on a column has the column filling its opening, so the hole stops being a hole and becomes a dark disc; everything the form is for goes. Lift it clear and the opening fills with whatever is beyond, which is what a pierced disc was always meant to do. The posts then have to be slim enough to disappear and stiff enough to hold a heavy ring against someone knocking it, which is a genuine conflict and is settled by setting them wide apart rather than by making them thicker.

At 80cm on its column it belongs where people pass rather than where they sit, and it needs something worth seeing through the opening: a doorway, a window, a run of space. Against a wall the whole argument above is lost. Light from behind is what the jade effect wants, since the material is translucent at the thin places and opaque at the mottled ones, and that difference is only visible with something behind it.

The Ring, the Column, and Delivery

A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. The ring is cast at other diameters, the posts are made longer or set closer, and the column is offered in other heights and finishes. A colourless ring is made and is a sharper, more modern object that gives up the mineral reference entirely. A tabletop version on a short stand is also built. It travels in two cases, the column braced upright and the ring packed flat and faced, and two people handle the column. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A pierced ring borrowed from jade belongs with our classic sculptures; the slim posts that lift it lead to our metal sculptures, and a ring held up to frame a doorway joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
