This timber and green resin stool is split down the middle: one half a section of dark polished timber, the other half green translucent resin, butted together on a vertical line with slim metal rods capped in black passing through the joint. Both halves share one irregular trunk outline, so the two materials read as one form cut in two.
The timber is dried and stabilised and its face is finished before the two halves meet, and the resin half is cast to the same irregular outline so the two agree along their whole length. The metal rods are set through both halves and capped, and they are the difficult part: each has to run true through two materials that move at different rates. Both halves are polished to the same sheen so the joint reads as a line rather than a step, and the four feet are levelled together across the two materials.
At 42cm this serves as a stool at low seat height or as a side table, and the flat top spans both halves so anything set on it bridges the joint. The two materials want different light: the timber reads under a warm lamp and the resin wants something passing through it, so a position with light from one side gives both.
Our workshops take 3–4 weeks over a standard piece and 5–6 over a bespoke commission. The pinned joint is what fills the time. Ordering settles three things. Which side takes the timber is yours to choose, the green is offered in another tint, and the pin count can be changed. Block width and overall height are each specified. Put the whole order in at once and the line where the timber meets the resin carries across every piece. The timber face and the pinned joint travel boxed clear, and the piece is carried by the resin half rather than by the pins. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Black-capped pins through timber and green resin relate this stool to our metal sculptures; as somewhere to perch it joins our art furniture, and its trunk outline our organic sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
