Grey Stone & Clear Resin Block Side Table - 40cm
Grey Stone & Clear Resin Block Side Table - 40cm $6,61100
Description

Dark grey stone, broken by flashes of blue where the light catches it, fills the inside of this side table, and a clear block encloses it on every side. The clear walls are thick and their upright corners rounded, and across the top the resin is softly dished, so the stone is always seen through a body of clear material, whether you look down on it or across.

A Dark Stone Seen Through Clear Resin

The stone gives the colour and the resin gives the light. Its face is a dark charcoal grey crossed by paler drifts and fine dark fissures, and in places a vivid blue flashes up from within it and is gone again as you move, a quality of the stone itself that falls differently in every piece. Around it the clear block is cast thick, with softly rounded upright corners, so the stone always sits behind a depth of clear material, and the dished top holds a shallow pool of light above it. No two stones are alike, so the run of grey and the places the blue appears belong to one table only.

At 40cm it sits at the end of a sofa or by a low chair as a side table, and it is heavy enough to be placed once and left. The blue appears only when the stone is lit at an angle, so a lamp to one side or a window does more for it than an overhead light. It holds its own against a pale wall or a dark one. Indoor use only.

The Stone, the Clear Block and the Order

Plan for 3–4 weeks on a standard piece and 5–6 weeks on a bespoke commission. Each stone is chosen at the workshop and no two carry the same pattern; a wish for more or less blue in the stone is noted at order and the stone is picked to match. The clear block can be cast with a flat top in place of the dish, and its upright edges can be squared rather than rounded. Tables ordered together are given stones that sit well side by side. It travels in a fitted crate and needs two people to lift. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A dark stone flashed with blue, cased all round by clear resin, enters our art furniture; the natural stone brings it close to our organic sculptures, and the clear block belongs with our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
