Grey & Sepia Swirl Petal Resin Swivel Chair, 75cm, with charcoal-edged petal shell on a black column base, shown against a plain white background.
Grey & Sepia Swirl Petal Resin Swivel Chair - 75cm $3,78200
Description

Misty grey resin makes up this petal shell, clouded like breath on a cold window and clearing towards the crown of the back. Sepia ink rises from the seat in jagged, flame-like strokes that break up as they cross the back, and the edges, the arm points and the rolled lip are smoked to a charcoal close to black. The shell swivels on a black column standing in a black disc.

Sepia Strokes Through Misty Grey

Two greys and a brown make the whole palette. The body of the shell is a soft, cloudy grey, pale enough near the crown to show the curve of the back, and the smoke gathers outward until the outer lobes and the lip are nearly charcoal. The sepia goes in as torn, upright strokes, ragged at their tips like ink dragged across rough paper, and it is concentrated where the back meets the seat, which is where the eye goes first. Nothing in it is regular: every stroke ends wherever the hand lifted.

Charcoal and grey sit well with concrete, blackened steel, ash or limed oak, and the sepia brings just enough warmth to keep the chair from feeling cold. At a study desk, or at a console in a hall, it stays quiet until someone comes close enough to read the strokes. The column lets it face the room or the desk in turn. Firm, even ground under the disc keeps it steady. Indoor use only.

Stroke Weight, Base Colours and Two-Part Delivery

Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. How heavily the sepia runs is settled before the shell is made: a scatter of fine strokes, or a dense band like this one. The grey can be lifted towards clear or smoked further, and column and disc come in black, chrome or brass. The sepia settles a little differently in every shell, so the strokes never repeat exactly. Stand and shell travel in separate crates and are bolted together on arrival, using the fixings supplied with them. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Grey and sepia seating is listed under our art furniture, its black column under our metal sculptures, and its petal outline under our organic sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
