A hatted woman in graded resin, the skirt sweeping out behind her and the brim broad enough to shade the whole face. Smoke grey holds the hat and the shoulders and cream gold runs down the skirt, meeting somewhere around the waist. A black block is supplied, deeper than the ones under its two relations because there is more figure standing above it.
At this height the figure is doing neither: it is about the graduation down the body, and the balance is solved by a deeper block. At this height the figure is read standing rather than sitting on a surface, so the proportion between hat, shoulder and hem matters far more than it does on the two beneath it, and the graduation is what carries that proportion. The casting has to carry two colours into one another down the whole body without leaving a line anywhere, which is the difficulty of a graded piece at this height. Polished over the whole surface, so the two colours are read as one graduation and not as two panels.
A hall or a landing, or a long room where it can stand at the end of the view with nothing beside it. A pale wall. Grey at the top against a dark ground loses the hat entirely. Light from above separates the grey from the gold; light from below merges them. From across a room the hat is seen first and the gold hem last, which is the order the figure is read in.
As standard the build runs 3–4 weeks, and as a bespoke commission 5–6. The gold is carried higher up the body, the grey is taken to black, and a white block replaces the black one. Carry the gold higher and the meeting point moves with it, so the proportion of the figure changes without a line being redrawn. A frosted olive green version is made, and frosting a figure this tall changes what it does to a room more than the colour does. The block is set down first and levelled, then the figure is lowered onto it. Two people for the figure alone. Two people at this height, both hands below the waist. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Tall figures to close a long view fill our indoor sculptures, while graded, two-tone castings of this kind appear in our contemporary and modern sculptures and our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
