Grey & Black Marbled Arched Resin Sculpture - 126cm, an abstract arched form with a flared fin, marbled grey and black through white, on a black marble base against a plain light background.
Grey & Black Marbled Arched Resin Sculpture - 126cm $3,84700
Description

An arched upright in marbled resin, with the fin swung out at mid height and the whole of it standing on one splayed foot. Smoke grey and black are marbled through white, with a flash of green where the fin joins the body. A marble block is supplied and the foot spreads across most of it.

Three Colours in One Body

Marbled through three colours it does a third thing again - the body reads as a material rather than as a surface, and the form comes second. The white in it is the part that decides the piece: it is what the grey and the black are read against, and any unevenness in it would show up as a stain rather than as a figure. Three colours marbled through one body cannot be placed, only started, and what the casting settles into is the piece. Polished throughout, which is what keeps the marbling reading as depth rather than as pattern.

A console or a sideboard, set high enough that the flare comes above the eye. A plain pale ground, because the marbling is busy enough on its own. Side light separates the black from the grey; light straight on flattens both into one. The silhouette carries and the marbling is entirely a near matter.

Moving the Green, and How It Arrives

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. The green is spread along the whole junction, the black is lightened toward grey, and white stone replaces the block. Lighten the black and the green has to be strengthened with it, or the flash disappears into the ground it sits on. The block travels packed beneath the casting, and a moment by hand puts the two of them together. One person can manage it, taken around the standing body. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

An arched upright marbled in grey, black and white is gathered in our organic sculptures; its flash of green at the fin marks it within our resin sculptures, and further marbled uprights are shown in our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
