Green Worked Pod Resin Sculpture - 75cm, elongated teal pod with smooth and finely textured faces, tapered flat base, on a plain white background.
Green Worked Pod Resin Sculpture - 75cm $2,42900
Description

A pod tapering to a point at both ends, smooth on one side and worked over the whole of the other. Teal through the whole body, with the worked face reading darker than the smooth one. The worked face is a fine net of raised points from end to end. No stand is included. The foot is cut level and the pod needs nothing else.

One Face Answered by the Other

The two faces are drawn as a single decision rather than two: the smooth side is kept perfectly plain because the worked one is dense, and if either were softened the pod would read as unfinished on one side. Neither face makes sense without the other in view, which is why it is meant to be turned. One body worked two ways is the argument here: the smooth face returns the room and the pointed face returns nothing, so the same colour reads as two. One face polished and the other worked into fine points over its whole area.

A console or a wide shelf, set so the worked face is the one the room sees. Something pale behind it, since a teal pod on a dark wall keeps no outline. Raking light across the worked face is what the piece is arranged for; flat light returns one colour. The outline carries at a distance and the points arrive within arm's reach.

Working the Points Further, and One Crate

Ours is a 3–4 week build as standard, and a 5–6 week build when the commission is bespoke. Ask us for the points worked further, for the teal exchanged, or for the pod made at another height. The depth of the points is specified at the order, and the body is drawn thicker behind them when they go deeper. Which face is put to the room is yours to choose. It travels in one crate and needs no assembling. A one-person lift, with the hands low on the body. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A teal pod drawn to a point top and bottom belongs to our organic sculptures; its smooth face set against a worked one joins our resin sculptures, and a place where the worked face meets the room keeps it among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
