Description

This cast resin sculpture is a green wave ring under a clear crest. Green gathers in the trough at the foot and pales as the water climbs, so the ring is a bright, light green low down and clear by the top. One side of the ring curls over into a pointed clear tongue; the other rises past it as a broad crest of folded, glassy sheets that twist upward to a small hooked tip. The tongue passes beneath the crest's lower edge without meeting it, so the ring stays open at the top.

A Ring Left Open Under a Folded Crest

The ring and the crest are drawn as two kinds of water. The ring is a continuous band, tinted and rounded, that curls round from the trough and finishes in a pointed tongue; the crest is broken, flat and angular, a stack of clear sheets that fold against each other as they rise and end in a small hook. Where the two pass at the top they are kept apart by a gap, which is what lets the eye read the ring as a ring and the crest as spray thrown off it. The green follows the same logic: it is heaviest where the water is heaviest, in the trough, and has all but gone by the crest, so the sheets there catch light on their flat faces.

At 88cm on its marble it is best on a sideboard or a low cabinet, where the ring is met at about chest height and the crest rises towards the eye. It needs a surface deep enough for the trough and the block, so a narrow shelf is best avoided. Light from one side catches the folded sheets of the crest one by one and separates them, where a lamp straight in front would flatten them together. A plain wall behind keeps the open ring legible, since whatever stands behind it is framed inside.

The Gap at the Top, Another Green, and Delivery

Allow 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The green can give way to amber or smoke grey, or be left out entirely, and the crest can be built up higher or kept close over the ring. The gap at the top is set at order, from a narrow break to a wide one, and the block beneath can be cut from a pale marble in place of this black. It travels in one foam-lined case with the crest faced separately and the base boxed beneath it, and it goes together on site by levelling the base and lowering the ring on, held around the trough and never by the crest. Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
