Green Wave Ring & Broken Crest Resin Sculpture, 102cm, swirling clear-to-green wave form with pointed crests on a black base, shown against a plain light grey background.
Green Wave Ring & Broken Crest Resin Sculpture - 102cm $2,37200
Description

Green gathers in the trough of this cast resin sculpture and clears as the water rises, breaking into about a dozen fine points. On one side the water climbs, rolls over the top and comes back down inside itself as a ring, stopping a hand's width short of the trough. Up the other side the points rise in three groups: short fingers by the foot, longer ones at the waist, and a long arm that sweeps up over the ring and branches at its tip like a twig. Below the waist the green thickens into dense, cloudy swirls above the black marble block at its foot.

A Crest That Breaks Into Points

The colour and the points are arranged to work against each other. All the green is held low, in the trough and the foot of the ring, where the water is heaviest, and everything that breaks into a point runs clear, so each tip catches light on its own instead of being tinted into the mass beneath it. The points climb in three steps up one side of the piece, from stubby fingers near the trough to longer ones at mid-height and then the arm itself, which divides into twig-like tips at the top. Read from the foot upward, the piece grows lighter and more open as it rises, which is the movement of a wave breaking.

Give it height above: the points are the end of the gesture and a shelf close over them cuts it off. At 102cm on its marble it stands best on the floor or on a shallow plinth in a room with some ceiling, such as a stair hall, a landing or a wide entrance, rather than on a console under a cupboard. It also wants to be walked past rather than stood in front of, since the ring closes and opens as the angle changes. Light from behind and above runs down the points and lets the green pool at the bottom, which is the piece doing what it was drawn to do.

The Points, the Green, and Installation

Production takes approximately 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The height is drawn to order, and the green can be replaced with an amber or left out for a clear piece throughout. The number of points is a decision at order, as is whether the ring closes; the marble block comes in black or a pale stone. It arrives in one braced case on a pallet, the crest faced individually and the block boxed under it, and it is assembled on site with the ring lifted by its trough and never by a point. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Breaking into a dozen fine points puts this with organic sculpture; the green gathered in the trough is resin sculpture; and points this fine belong where indoor sculpture keeps them.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
