Green Veined Long Boat Resin Sculpture, 250cm, with upswept pointed ends and raised crackled veining, clear at center on a plain white background.
Green Veined Long Boat Resin Sculpture - 250cm $20,78800
Description

A long, open boat in translucent green resin, pointed and upswept at both ends. Its walls are covered in a network of raised veins, like cracked ice or the veins of a leaf, and rough granular patches of green and brown sit along the sides like moss on a stone. It is cast hollow, and the green deepens toward both ends and along the rim and clears almost to colourless through the middle of the hull.

A Green Hull Veined Like Cracked Ice

The veins are drawn as a single network that runs over the whole hull without regard to its shape, which is what makes them read as something natural, a crackle or a leaf, and not as decoration applied to a boat. The rough patches break the smooth green with a different texture altogether, and they sit along the sides where weathering would gather. The hull itself is kept plain in outline, a long shallow curve rising to two points, so that all the incident is on the surface.

It is long enough to need its own place: along a wall in a hall, on the floor of a dining room beside a long table, or across a reception, where its length is seen side on. Light along its length makes the green glow, and a pale floor beneath it keeps the colour fresh. From the side the hull reads as one long green line, and the veins come out as you approach.

Colour, Length and Delivery of a Long Hull

A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. It can be made in amber, blue, clear or a deeper green, and to another length, and the rough patches can be added to or left off for a plain veined hull. Leaving off the patches makes it cooler and more like ice. It travels in one long crate, and it is carried level by several people spaced along the hull, never lifted by either of its pointed ends. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A long green hull veined like cracked ice and patched like a mossy stone has a berth among our contemporary and modern sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
