An acrylic sculpture ringed with flat plates set radially around a circle, each one turned a little further than the last so the whole assembly twists through its circumference. The result is two completely different edges from one construction: the outside is a ragged circle of plate ends, all of them at slightly different angles, and the inside is a smooth swept surface drawing a tall teardrop opening, left open at its point, where the two arms stop short of each other at the top. The green is saturated at the inner edge where the plates crowd together, deepest at the foot of the ring, and it fades to almost nothing at the outer plate ends and up towards the two tips. It stands without a base.
A progressive twist made out of straight plates is a setting-out problem before it is a making one. Each plate is flat and each sits at its own angle, and the angles have to advance by exactly the same increment all the way round or the swept inner surface develops a kink that catches the light along its whole length. Because the increment is small, an error accumulates: a plate half a degree out is invisible on its own and obvious by the twentieth. So the sequence is jigged rather than eyeballed, and the inner surface is checked as a curve rather than plate by plate. The plate ends are left as cut on the outside, which is a decision: polishing them would tidy the one edge that is supposed to look torn.
This wants eye level and a plain background, on a console top, a sideboard or a broad shelf, seen square on so the teardrop opening reads as a shape rather than as a gap. It is shallow front to back, so it is a poor centrepiece and a good wall-facing object. Light from behind is what it is built for. Backlighting drives colour through the crowded inner edge and makes the opening glow; light from the front finds the ragged plate ends and stops there. Green picks up whatever is behind it, so keep it off a warm wall, where it turns olive, and give it something cool or neutral instead.
A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. The plate count, the increment of the twist and the shape of the opening are all drawn per piece, so a tighter ring with more plates, or one whose two arms meet and close at the top, are both available from the same construction. Colour is chosen at order: this green, a blue, an amber, or clear plate throughout where only the geometry is wanted. Sizes run up considerably. It is lifted with a hand inside the opening and one under the foot, never by the outer plate ends or by either of the two tips. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A ring built out of plates is measured work: geometric sculpture holds it, acrylic sculpture supplies it, and indoor sculpture is where those edges keep their polish.

Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.
Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
